Class and Homework for 11/6/09

Filed under: Classwork, General Information, Help Sessions, Homework, Projects — belisler @ 2:10 pm

Classwork

Students are continuing to  work on the engineering design project I assigned.   In today’s class, began building the assistive devices they designed to solve to the design problem.

Homework

Students should work on completing the questions in the project packet, focusing on step 7 – presentation.

Help Sessions

All students are encouraged to attend my Wednesday help sessions.

Notes

The notes for the Astronomy unit have been placed on the “Student Shared Drive” in the school’s computer system, but there are no notes for the engineering project

Projects

Students are currently working on a mostly in class project called Celestial Support. During the course of this project students, working in groups of 2 or 3, will research the problem of bone loss in space and then design and build an assistive device that could be used to support the skeletal system of astronauts returning from extended missions in space. Completed projects will be presented in class on either 11/10 or 11/12.

Classwork

Students are continuing to  work on the engineering design project I assigned.   In today’s class, students come up with several proposed solutions to the design problem  and then, by completing step four of the design process, make a final decision as to how their assistive device will look and function.

Homework

Students should decide on a final solution to the design problem and completing step 4 of the design process.

Help Sessions

All students are encouraged to attend my Wednesday help sessions.

GOLD TEAM NEWS:

Welcome to all of our new students.  Try to start the year off right by coming to class prepared and doing your best to keep up with your daily homework assignments.  Remember, it is easier to keep up than to catch up.

NEED HELP IN SCIENCE?

My late night is Wednesday, come in and work on your labs, homework or anything else that you have questions about.
